A Birth Doula is a non-medical professional who supports you through the antenatal period and birth. That support is multidimensional - emotional, physical, practical and informational - and always tailored to your individual circumstances and needs.
I will provide you with a continuity of care right the way through your journey, helping you to rest in your own innate strength and power at each stage.
During your pregnancy, I will spend time with you and your partner/birth companion (if there is one) to build a relationship of comfort and trust, and to get to know your wants and needs. I will provide you with information and help you to equip yourself with knowledge as you prepare for your birth. During your birthing time, I will be with you constantly, protecting and reinforcing your preferences. I will come back again a few days after birth for a postnatal visit.
